To find items in the Short Loan Collection, click the Readings tab in Library Search. On the next screen click on the pull down arrow next to the Course search box, and highlight the course name, ENGLISH 332. Click Search.

Dictionary of Literary Biography Online - fully searchable collection. Search by keyword or named author, by selecting from the pull down menu in the first seach screen. Typically each author/topic is covered by an extended essay covering background, criticism, commentary, and a list of further reading. Photographs are usually included. Each article can be re-formatted for reading, and e-mailed/printed/downloaded.

Search Tip: You can also use the Articles & More link in Library Search. To ensure the articles meet academic requirements, click Peer-Reviewed Journals in the left hand panel of the results screen. You can continue to refine the search further using this panel, e.g. by date, format, online, from the options provided.

The following databases will provide references to material on all authors and topics covered in this course.

MLA International Bibliography - indexes and provides full text to scholarly journals, books and chapters in books. Many articles are provided in full text. Where full text is not provided by the database, use the symbol to link to full text from other sources. Use the Author as Subject search box for less well-known playwrights, and the Author's Work search box for those more well known e.g Stoppard.

Project Muse - a full text and current journal collection which provides a number of major titles for theater and performing arts. Note the dates covered by each title. Most of these titles are indexed in MLA International Bibliography but you may wish to search this collection and have direct access to full text.
To search a subject collection return to the home page of the database, choose Article Search and scroll down to the By Discipline selection box. Hightlight Film, Theater and Performing Arts and enter your terms in the search box at the top of the screen. You can also search within an individual title [use the All Journals box], or search the entire database and restrict your search to Drama in the Type of Content section in the left hand sidebar.
