Where is the Library?

Biological Sciences library resources (books, journals etc) are housed on Level M of the General Library, 5 Alfred Street, City Campus.

Items available in the Short Loan Collection 

• The Library makes available all the recommended textbooks and required reading as well as any additional material recommended by your lecturers in the Short Loan Collection. The purpose of the Short Loan collection is to make high demand items accessible to all students doing a course and when the library only has two copies of a book the Short Loan Collection is the fairest way to do this. 
• To borrow books from the Short Loan Collection you need your ID Card and the Call Number of the book.  You can borrow items from the Short Loan Collection for two hours at a time. 
• The Short Loan Collection is housed on level 1 of the Kate Edger Information Commons.

To see the full list of items on short loan for Foundation Biology, go to the  Course Materials  search page on Voyager, and scroll down the alphabetical list of courses to find the entries for BIOSC91F: Foundation Biology 1 and BIOSC92F: Foundation Biology 2 (note that they fall at the end of the biology papers sequence).

Click on the Search tab. The items will be listed in alphabetical order by title and may include books and individual journal articles.Click on the title link to see more information about the book, including availability of extra copies.

Where can I get help if I need it?

• There is an Enquiry Desk on Level 1 of the General Library and staff on this desk will attempt to answer any question you may have. 
• The library also runs several FREE tutorials, including How to use Voyager the Library Catalogue, you can check availability and book for these tutorials online.
