There are a number of items available for BIOSCI 206 in the Short Loans Collection which is located on level 1 of the Kate Edger Information Commons.

  • An eBook is a full online version of a printed book, you can look at all the pages, pictures etc from your computer, on-campus, and from home, anytime!

Recommended Journals 

  • For the journal articles below, the links below will either take you to directly to journal articles if they are available in an online journal, or you will be taken to the corresponding page in Voyager the Library Catalogue.  

  • From the Voyager record you will be able to work out whether the library has a print/hard copy subscription to the Journal.  Articles from print/hard copy only journals can be photocopied in the library.  

  • All Biological Sciences journals are housed on Level M of the General Library in the Science Serials area, all journals are shelved alphabetically by the Journal title.

Databases Relevant to this Course

Biological Abstracts is an international database on biology, clinical and experimental medicine, biochemistry and biotechnology. It indexes and abstracts articles in 6,500 serials from over 100 countries and is produced in the United States by BIOSIS. Biological Abstracts uses OVID software.  Coverage is 1980 to the present, updated weekly.  Serials currently monitored for inclusion in Biological Abstracts.

PsycINFO provides access to over 1 million references from the international literature of psychology and the behavioral sciences.  PsycINFO indexes and abstracts over 1500 journals from over 50 countries.  PsycINFO is produced in the United States by the American Psychological Association.  Searches on animal behaviour can be limited to Animal Experimental & Comparative Psychology, Animal Learning & Motivation and/or Animal Social & Instinctive Behavior.  PsychInfo uses OVID software.  Coverage is 1887 to the present, updated monthly.
